For the past 8 years we've been throwing an annual party at our house. It started off as a birthday party for our daughter with food and drinks thrown in for the grown-ups and then when she got old enough to her own party ours morphed into 'our annual shindig'. I love to BBQ and my wife is a fantastic cook so the parties have always been a chance to pull together some great food to share with great friends over a drink or two. Music has always been courtesy of iTunes. This year we did something a little different ... Tom came and played. Like I said, we've always had great food at our parties but have pretty much neglected the music. Having Tom play added a fantastic new layer to the day. Apart from playing and singing crowd favorites all afternoon he also added a chilled atmosphere to the day. People loved it! So thanks Tom. Looking forward to having you back next year!
When our daughter was about to turn 18 she didn't want to have a jukebox or a DJ play for her. We had heard Tom play a few times and his whole personality was warm and inviting all the way through the whole set. We called him and organized a list of songs picked from his playlist which gave our daughter a chance to not only have her favourite songs, but also her friends. He played for about three hours with small intervals and interacted the people who attened the evening at Smith and Mackenzie's private function area in Hamilton. The manager of Smith and Mackenzie at the time was also very impressed but Tom's professionalism and his easy going approach to setting up and removing equipment. I would have Tom play for any function we have going forward and recommend him very highly to anyone who was looking for someone to play their venue.
